A log refers to the balanced wood structure found in maps, such as maps 1 or 7. This long wooden item can be tipped over from too much weight, and thus needs to be secured by the shaman by the use of a B nail. Mice, especially on maps 20, 30, and 35 will rush towards the cheese in order to be the first back to the hole. This often causes the collapse of the platform very early in the time limit. Especially when there is no shaman, one must take extra precautions on maps with logs. If one wishes to rush for the cheese (on maps such as map 35), that mouse should go left in order to balance the log. Most mice have the right arrow key pressed before the map begins, and thus will go right.
